Benefits of Microbial Biofertilizers

Italian Study Demonstrates Benefits of Microbial Biofertilizers and Algae-Based Biostimulants

Feb 1, 2025

A recent study conducted by researchers in Italy has shown that the combined use of microbial biofertilizers and algae-based biostimulants can significantly enhance the yield and quality of organic tomatoes. The application of plant growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPMs) and natural algae-derived treatments improved root development, shoot biomass, and overall plant health. The highest crop yield achieved was 67.2 tons per hectare, demonstrating the potential of these sustainable inputs in organic farming.
